About the Designer

So, you may ask, how does a farm wife and horse trainer end up making custom handbags? Here's my story.

 I created DVB Designs in 2022. It was born out of several passions in my life, as well as my need to work from home. But it took a long time for everything to come together.

 I’ve been a horse girl for as long as I can remember. It kind of runs in my family. Along with this love for horses comes a love of all things leather. This developed from all the beautiful leather tack we use. The aroma of new leather can become absolutely intoxicating. The leather in my sewing room helps keep me inspired. 

I have also enjoyed sewing since I was quite young. Looking back, I think I was always a bit OCD with my sewing. I loved learning new techniques, and then perfecting them. The more complicated a project, the more interesting it was for me. With me, it’s never been “I can’t.” It’s always “I’m going to figure out how to.”

 Fast forward, my husband and I retired from farming (cattle, hay, and horses). Then
covid hit keeping us home more. I spent a lot of time on Facebook in horse
groups as well as sewing groups. I was deep down that rabbit hole, when I found
a group dedicated to sharing information on sewing handbags. This combined two
of my passions, and while my equipment wasn’t up to handling leather, I knew I would get there.
